Maserati will present its latest achievement, the GranSport at the 2004 Geneva International Motor Show and will go on sale this summer. Its special design was created in the wind tunnel and uses muscular aerodynamic forms to improve the airflow over the car. The aerodynamic changes include the development of new bumpers. The model is powered by a 4244cc V8 engine and the intake cams feature variable phase timing. It is able to develop up to 400 BHP. The power is being sent to the wheels through a Cambiocorsa six-speed electro-hydraulic transmission in which the gears are changed using paddles mounted behind the steering wheel. This transmission system allows the driver to choose between various gear shifting modes using software developed specifically for the GranSport. It is able to reach a top speed of 180 mph.
